Ravindra Gaikwad, the Shiv Sena MP who has recently made it to the news after beating up a 60-year-old Air India staffer with his slippers is now popular across the country. According to Gaikwad, this wastes a lot of his time and to tackle this problem, he has made an aide dress like him.
His popularity has elevated so much that Ratnakant Sagar, one of Gaikwad’s party worker, with whom Gaikwad bears a striking resemblance has been appointed as his body double, as per reports. To ensure that no one finds the difference between Gaikwad and Ratnakant, the Osmanabad MP has also been instructed his doppelganger to dress in kurta pyjamas.
On Thursady, while boarding the train to Latur from Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus, a few people gathered around Gaikwad to click pictures, the MP wearing a t-shirt pointed towards his double wearing Kurta stating that, “That’s my boss Ravisaheb Gaikwad.”
On being questioned about the reason to have a double, the Sena leader said, “After the Air India incident and the media trial that I was subjected to, many people have started recognising me, and they request for selfies. I don’t like to turn them away but at the same time it gets time-consuming, so I chose my party worker Ratnakant Sagar, who has been working with me for a long time, to pose as me. As you can see, there is a resemblance, and I gave him my kurta pyjamas to make it appear that he is indeed Gaikwad the MP.”
