Republic Day Parade Highlight 2026: India is preparing in a big way for its 77th Republic Day on January 26, 2026. The main celebrations will take place at Kartavya Path in New Delhi. This year, people will see a mix of India’s old culture and new defence strength. Preparations are already going on and the event is expected to look grand and different from before.

This Republic Day parade is special because it is the first one after Operation Sindoor. Through this operation, India showed strong action against cross-border terror groups in Pakistan. Because of this background, the parade will focus more on how the Indian armed forces work in real battle situations.

A New Style of Parade

Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh said that this year’s parade will not follow the old fixed style. Instead, it will be more lively and interesting for people watching. The parade will explain how real military operations happen. It will show steps like checking enemy movement, moving supplies, using long-range weapons, giving backup support, and using air power together with ground forces. This will help people understand how soldiers and machines work together during war.

The Indian Army will show a new format called a phased battle array. This means weapons and units will appear in the order they are used in battle. The parade will include the newly formed Bhairav Battalions, Ladakh Scouts, local animal breeds, and air support working together. Army equipment like tanks, missiles, drones, artillery guns, robotic vehicles, and helicopters will be part of the display. Marching soldiers, animals like camels and ponies, and different Army units will also take part.

Guests

The Ministry of Defence said the parade connects 150 years of ‘Vande Mataram’ with India’s military strength and cultural variety. The official themes are “Svatantrata Ka Mantr – Vande Mataram” and “Samrddhi Ka Mantr – Aatmanirbhar Bharat.” European Council President António Costa and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen will attend as Chief Guests.
