Her message was stark and emotional:

Here, she publicly names Sanjay Yadav, a close aide of her brother Tejashwi Yadav, along with her husband Rameez Alam, as the ones who asked her to make this sacrifice.

Rohini’s announcement didn’t happen in a vacuum. It came at a moment when RJD was reeling from a “crushing defeat” in the Bihar polls. The timing is significant: her exit adds to growing signs of deep internal strife within the Yadav family and the party itself.
Already, reports suggest that there has been tension for months. According to India Today, Rohini had unfollowed many family and party accounts on social media and posted cryptic, emotional messages. Internal sources reportedly point to frustration with Tejashwi Yadav’s inner circle, particularly Sanjay Yadav, whom Rohini seems to blame for having too much influence.
Role of Sanjay Yadav
Central to Rohini Acharya’s departure is her pointed reference to Sanjay Yadav, widely known as a close aide of her brother, Tejashwi Yadav. She claims that Sanjay, along with her husband Rameez, “asked” her to step away from politics and her family, and she says she is “taking all the blame.”
This is not the first time Rohini has publicly criticized him: earlier, she hinted at internal power plays and questioned his influence in RJD’s decision-making. Many analysts interpret her latest statement as a very public airing of grievances not just personal, but political which may reflect a deeper power struggle within the Yadav household and RJD.
Her Kidney Donation and Self-Respect
Rohini’s departure also brings back into focus her past personal sacrifice: in 2022, she donated a kidney to her father, Lalu Prasad Yadav. That act was widely covered in the media, and now, amid the family feud, it has become a symbol of what Rohini calls her “self-respect” and sense of duty.
In earlier posts, she stated that she had no desire for any position or political ambition. Instead, she framed her exit as a decision guided by her deeply held values and self-worth.
