Star Plus’s popular show Saath Nibhana Saathiya is all set to return with its second season. The show was a huge hit back when it originally aired in 2010. It successfully ran for about 7 years before going off-air in 2017.
As per reports, this time they are coming up with a new story and new faces. This time the makers will narrate the story of Gehna. Fresh faces will be a part of the show. Sneha Jain will be making her debut as Gehna while Harsh Nagar will join Saath Nibhana Saathiya 2 as the male lead.
Devoleena Bhattacharjee would be reprising her role as Gopi Bahu in the show. Fans of the show wondered whether Rupal Patel or any other casts from the show including Mohammad Nazim would be seen returning as their characters.
While Devoleena and Mohammad were confirmed, Rupal Patel who played Kokila ben on the show was sceptical to do two shows at a time. Rupal is playing the role of Meenakshi Rajvansh in Rajan Shahi’s Yeh Rishtey Hain Pyaar Ke. But now, the actress has agreed to be part of the show.
“There cannot be SNS 2 without its Koki,” the actress told Mumbai Mirror. “Of course, I’m a lot more flexible and fun. But even today, young girls tell me that they want a mother-in-law like Koki,” the actress exclaimed.
Talking about her inhibitions (on doing two shows together) and what made her say yes for the second season, the actress said, “I couldn’t sleep the night I was approached for SNS 2 as I prefer doing one show at a time. But the channel, Rajan sir and Rashmi ma’am have assured me that we will figure out a way to ensure that everything proceeds smoothly.”
Rupal is quite confident that the second season will be a hit as well. “Krishna Bhagwan ki saugandh, if season 2 is not a superhit, mera naam bhi Kokila Modi nahin,” she said in her Kokilaben style.
For the uninitiated, the makers of Saath Nibhana Saathiya 2 are eying for a Navratri week launch.
