Raj Chengappa, a senior journalist has been re-elected as the President of the Editors’ Guild of India. Chengappa was unanimously re-elected as its President at the Annual General meeting of the Guild on Saturday.
As of now, he is serving as a Group Editorial Director at India Today.
Notably, Prakash Dubey is designated as a General Secretary, a statement released said. The Guild also selected Kalyani Shankar as Treasurer.
The Guild also decided to take a fresh look at the criminal defamation law in India at the meeting. As per the statement, it explored legal options for seeking its abrogation.
