A young couple who was parted by Ghaziabad police for belonging to two different faiths has been reunited by the Delhi High Court.  The couple was living in the Jawaharlal Nehru University campus when a team of Loni police station came and arrested the husband. Both of them are majors above 21-year-old and had married each other of their own will.

No prior intimation was given to them and the police husband was taken away to be kept under police custody for two nights. Also, he was not presented in front of any court. The Bench of Justice S. Muralidhar and Vinod Goel has asked the Ghaziabad police to submit an explanation in the whole matter.

According to reports, the Hindu man had married a Muslim woman on June 28 in Ghaziabad. The matter came into light when the victim husband filed a habeas corpus plea to connect to his wife, as he was unable to reach her after being separated.
