There are some dream teams in Bollywood that never worked out. Or even if they did, the associations were very rare. One such dream team is that of Shah Rukh Khan and Akshay Kumar. The two superstars of Bollywood have never worked together for a full-fledged film. While they have shared screen space in short scenes like that in Om Shanti Om and Heyy Babyy, the two actors have never been paired with each other for any venture yet. We are not sure what the real reason behind this is, but Shah Rukh seems to have cleared the air a little bit in a recent interview and even explained why the association never happened. While he would love to work with Akki, there are certain conditions that definitely apply.
In a recent interview with DNA, King Khan was asked if fans would ever get to see him pairing on screen with Akki. To this, SRK said, “What do I say to this? I don’t wake up as early as him. I go to sleep when Akshay is waking up. His day starts early. By the time I start working, he is packing up and going home. So he can put in more hours of work. I’m a nocturnal person. Not many people are fond of shooting at night like me.” Now, we know that Akshay is known for his strict and timely schedules and Shah Rukh, well, is more of the workaholic kinds who prefers working late into the night. While Akki is an early riser, SRK is a nocturnal person. So, what Shah Rukh said in the interview totally makes sense.
To add to this, when Shah Rukh was asked to imagine a hypothetical scenario when the two would be working together on a film, h said, “It will be fun to act with Akshay. Dono set pe hi nahin milenge. Woh jaa raha hoga aur main aa raha hounga (laughs). He’ll be leaving the set and I’ll be coming in. I would like to work like Akshay and with him, but our timings won’t match.”
While we still have our hopes pinned on the association becoming a reality, what SRK explained is true too. So, let’s still wait and watch if the two actors find a mid-way through this. Stay tuned to BollywoodLife for more updates.
