Ranchi: Loktantrik Janata Dal chief Sharad Yadav on Saturday reached RIMS to meet Lalu Prasad Yadav, president of Rashtriya Janata Dal at RIMS.
After the meeting that lasted nearly half an hour in which seat-sharing for the Lok Sabha Elections were discussed, Sharad Yadav while interacting with media attacked the Modi government. He said, “during the current NDA regime, the country has seen demonetisation, unemployment, GST and is in a state of serious crises”. He added that efforts are being taken to put these questions behind.
He said that politics should no be played behind the back of the army, doesn’t matter if they belong to the government or from the opposition.
About the coalition, Yadav said that efforts will be made to bring the opposition together. Several leaders of the alliance are reaching Ranchi to meet Lalu Prasad Yadav to discuss seat sharing. In the latest, leaders of Left parties, including RLSP president Upendra Kushwaha, also reached RIMS to meet Lalu. Upendra Kushwaha and VIP chief Mukesh Sahni also visited Rabri Devi on Saturday.
Earlier, party state president Ramchander Purbe on Saturday said that Rashtriya Lalu Prasad, who is in jail after being convicted in three fodder scam cases, will select seats and party candidates for his party for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls, on Saturday. Rebel BJP leader Shatrughan Sinha had also reached to meet Lalu.
The decision was taken at the state and central parliamentary board meeting of the RJD held at the official residence of Lalu’s wife and former Bihar Chief Minister Rabri Devi. Lalu will also distribute the party symbol to the candidates, a party official had said.
Lalu Prasad was convicted in three fodder scam cases in December 2017 and January 2018 and was awarded 14 years imprisonment.
