The third chargesheet in the controversial murder of Sheena Bora was filed on Friday where a key accused-turned-prosecution witness in the 2012 murder case has revealed that Peter Mukerjea was well aware of the plot to kill her.
The former driver of the accused couple Indrani Muerjea and Peter Mukerjea has given out his testimony where he has stated that a day prior to the crime, Indrani Mukerjea had told her husband Peter about the place intended for the eventual disposal of the body.
The two-page statement is part of the third chargesheet submitted by CBI before special judge H S Mahajan on Friday. In an earlier statement submitted in April, the driver Shyamvar Rai, said that a ‘recce’ was conducted on April 23, 2012 on the Pen-Khopoli Road. “…Madam ne do baar jahan tak mujhe yaad hai Peter sahib se phone par baath kar ke boli thi ki “good place” Mikhail aaivam Sheena ka naam lekar angrezi mein bol rahi thi,” the statement reads. Sheena and Mikhail are Indrani’s children by Siddhartha Das. Peter has pleaded all along that he was unaware of the plot to kill Sheena.
This latest revelation by Rai has put Peter in the centre of the plot as earlier he had not made any mention of him during any of his previous testimonies. According to the CBI chargesheet, Indrani and Peter Mukerjea were against the relationship of Sheena and Rahul. Indrani had once gone to the PG accommodation of Sheena and tried to influence her roommate to convince her to part ways with Rahul. She told Sheena’s roommate that Rahul was a drug addict.
Sheena’s brother Mikhail told the CBI that Peter did not like the relationship between his wife’s daughter and his son. According to Mikhail, Sheena had spoken to Peter about her relationship with Rahul and also about her true relation with Indrani.
