In a horrific act, a woman died after she was stabbed multiple times by a man at the MG road metro station in Gurgaon on Monday morning.
The victim was exiting the metro station when the man ambushed her from behind, police said. The incident occurred around 9:30 am.
Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) staff nabbed the accused and handed him over to Gurgaon Police.
From his appearance, the accused appeared to be a slum dweller, police said. His identity, and motive for attacking the woman, are yet to be ascertained.
Initial reports said the accused was waiting near a store at the metro station when he pulled out a knife to attack the victim in the presence of other commuters.
The victim was immediately rushed to a nearby private hospital from where she was referred to the Gurgaon civil hospital.
She had sustained critical injuries in the stomach, throat, and wrists. Police are yet to identify the victim.
