The iconic Tunday Kababi in Lucknow will bring back its signature dish – the buffalo meat galouti kebab from Wednesday.
With a history of being more than 100 years old, Tunday Kababi was forced to discontinue these kebabs after the Yogi Adityanath government put a crackdown on illegal slaughterhouses on March 23rd this year. This had led to a shortage of meat supply in the shop.It had to continue serving chicken and mutton kebabs, which their customers said were not as delicious as the buffalo meat variety.

Shop owner Mohd Usman said, “Sale of the buffalo meat kebabs would start from Wednesday onwards. I am happy as now we can cater to people belonging to the weaker section of the society, who could not afford chicken or mutton kebabs that are much expensive than buffalo meat kebabs”.
The shop had to remain shut one day, when there was acute shortage of meat availability in the City of Nawabs. Lucknow, once known as the City of Nawabs, is very popular for its authentic Mughlai dishes.
