Simmba starring Ranveer Singh and Sara Ali Khan, helmed by Rohit Shetty and bankrolled by Karan Johar under Dharma Production is all set to cross Rs 200 crore mark before completing even two-weeks at the box office.
Rohit Shetty directorial, Simmba is his eighth consecutive movie to cross Rs 100 crore mark on the box office collections. Rohit Shetty is receiving appraisals from the Simmba team and fans for achieving this benchmark.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to his official twitter account and wrote, “#Simmba inches closer to ₹ 200 cr… Will be the third film  to breach ₹ 200 cr mark [Nett BOC], after #Sanju and #Padmaavat… [Week 2] Fri 9.02 cr, Sat 13.32 cr, Sun 17.49 cr, Mon 6.16 cr. Total: ₹ 196.80 cr. India biz.”

An official remake of the Telugu hit ‘Temper’, Simmba starring Ranveer Singh, Sara Ali Khan and Sonu Sood in the pivotal roles, revolves around a corrupt cop named Sangram Bhalerao (Ranveer), who falls in love with Shagun (Sara), who runs a catering service near his police station. He realises his responsibilities after the woman he considers his younger sister, 19-year-old medical student Aakruti Dave, gets brutally raped and killed.
Simmba also happens to be the biggest opener of Ranveer’s career. Simmba had collected Rs 20.72 crore on the opening day itself.
Ranveer Singh starrer Simmba also marks the cameos of Ajay Devgun, who returns in his Bajirao Singham avatar and Akshay Kumar. The song Aankh Maarey also witnesses the special appearance of the Golmaal cast.
Ranveer Singh is experiencing a great phase of his life, both professionally and personally, by delivering successive blockbusters at the box office and only recently he got married to the love of his life Deepika Padukone.
