A six-year-old minor girl was brutally murdered after rape in Tripura on Thursday night. The incident took place at Karbuk under South Tripura district.
The girl was from Anath Bandhu para area and she was missing from Wednesday evening.
Her father informed police on Wednesday night and a missing complaint was lodged.
SDPO Raju Reang along with a police team started search operation from the night. But could not trace her.
On Thursday night the villagers started searching and they found her nude body in a rubber garden. The villagers informed the police and they recovered the body.
The postmortem will be done on Friday. Meanwhile, the police arrested one Kasakla Tripura (35) in this connection.
Police also confirmed that the girl was raped before killing. Crimes against woman seem to be rampant as of now in the northeast. It still low compared to the rest of the country.
The steep rise in rape-related incidents to cause concern in major ways. Especially in Assam and Tripura, the rise is evidence of these major cases that reflect on assault and violence against woman.
