In a rare case, robbers returned purse to victim after they found denominations of ₹ 500 and slapped him for not keeping ₹ 100 notes.
Two bike-borne robbers snatched purse containing ₹ 1,500 from Vikas Kumar, a labourer, who works at a construction site in Greater Noida.
Kumar said he had finished his work around 11 pm on Tuesday and started walking towards the bus stand. “I was walking from the site towards the bus stand when two bike-borne men rode towards me. They snatched my purse and fled,” he said.
The purse contained three ₹ 500 notes and Vikas was mulling over his next step, like calling for help or going to the police, when he found to his surprise the snatchers coming back towards him. “They came back and threw the purse at me. Then they slapped me and said I should have carried money in ₹ 100 notes,” he said.
Sudhir Kumar Tyagi, SHO, Kasna police station, said he has not received any information about the snatching yet.
“We have not got any complaint in this regard. We will investigate the matter if the victim approaches us” he said.
