About the Film and Storyline
On one hand, Nikita Roy showcases the supernatural horror; on the other hand, it is a psychological thriller that is full of tension, and the actress playing the main role Sonakshi Sinha is a demanding rationalist and writer who gets to know the chilling mystery after the suspicious death of her sibling.

In the movie, Nikita’s brother portrayed by Arjun Rampal dies in a manner that the police quickly rule out as suicide. Determined to find the truth, Nikita undertakes a personal investigation, and in the process, she brings to light an enigma surrounding the most powerful and spiritual leader played by Paresh Rawal. What starts as a quest for truth soon leads her into the realms of the unexplained and the supernatural, thus challenging her in her already formed beliefs of logic and science.

Nikita Roy made her cinematic debut on July 18, 2025, receiving a later release than the initial May and June 2025 dates. Although the film’s box office numbers did not meet the expectations, its storyline along with Sonakshi Sinha’s powerful enactment was enough to gain digital release worldwide.
Critics were not unanimous in their reviews: they appreciated the atmospheric tension of the film and and the confrontation of science with superstition but at the same time, they heavily critiqued the narrative style. However, the excitement surrounding its OTT release has revived the interest once again.
