Spider-Man: Brand New Day India Box Office: Tom Holland’s Spider-Man: Brand New Day has swung into the record books with this really extraordinary run at the Indian box office. The Marvel-Sony blockbuster has turned out to be the first Hollywood film to log a ₹300 crore opening weekend in India and set a fresh benchmark for overseas releases coming into the country.

The movie directed by Destin Daniel Cretton counts as Holland’s fourth solo outing as Spider-Man and it’s also been one of the most eagerly awaited global debuts of the year.

Since the release, the film has kept up an exceptional pace which makes sense because the screenings have been getting strong occupancy in English too along with dubbed Hindi Tamil and Telugu versions. On top of that, premium showings like IMAX and 4DX have seen a lot of demand helping push those record-breaking numbers even higher.

  • Day 1 (Thursday): ₹63.5 crore
  • Day 2 (Friday): ₹67.5 crore
  • Day 3 (Saturday): ₹79 crore
  • Day 4 (Sunday): ₹93 crore
  • Opening Weekend Total: ₹303 crore

With this sort of performance, Spider-Man: Brand New Day has overtaken what used to be seen as earlier Hollywood blockbusters, and is starting or more like scripting, a new chapter in India’s box office.

Global Box Office

The movie isn’t only tearing things up in India. Worldwide, Spider-Man: Brand New Day came out strong with an estimated $927 million, and that puts it as the second-largest opening weekend in cinema histor just under Avengers: Endgame. It reportedly brought in about $355 million from domestic markets and around $572 million internationally including a hefty and noticeable haul from China.

Can It Become the Highest-Grossing Hollywood Film in India?

With word-of-mouth that sounds great and with not much real competition showing up in the next stretch, trade analysts are saying the Spider-Man: Brand New Day is well placed to keep rolling at the Indian box office. If it holds the same collection, then the film might end up challenging multiple long-standing Hollywood box office records in the country.
