New Vande Bharat Stop at Budgam Station, PDP Leader States His Demands

Vande Bharat Stop at Budgam Station: Residents of Central Kashmir’s Budgam district on Friday staged a symbolic pen-and-paper protest outside Budgam railway station, urging the authorities to allow the newly introduced Vande Bharat Express to halt at Budgam railway station.

During the duration of the hearing, the protestors zeroed in on how bringing just one new stop would exponentially enhance income for nearby merchants and increase economic possibility all throughout the district.

The week’s activists cheered the introduction of the Vande Bharat Express as a significant first step toward restoring regional connectivity and wished for a national government wise enough to recognize its potential.

New Vande Bharat Stop at Budgam Station

Jammu and Kashmir People’s Democratic Party (PDP) leader and Secretary of Chapter of Anjuman Interfaith Dialogue Mohammad Amanullah reiterated his request to the Union Railway Ministry to allow a stoppage of Vande Bharat Express at Budgam Railway Station.

In a statement, the leader recalled his earlier communication with the Railway Ministry on December 17, 2023, requesting the inclusion of Budgam station in the Vande Bharat route.

“I sincerely request the Railway Ministry to reconsider this long-pending demand. Granting a stop at Budgam will significantly improve connectivity and benefit the people of the region,” he said.(KNS)

He highlighted that Budgam, situated at the gateway entrance of the Kashmir division, had never shut down even during disasters like the 2014 floods and is referred to as the lifeline of transport due to its proximity—just 7 km from Sheikh Ul Alam Airport and 5 km from the Ring Road.
