SSC Exam Schedule 2026 Out:The Staff Selection Commission (SSC), which is the prime agency for recruitment in India for Group B and Group C government posts, has unveiled the long-awaited examination calendar and self-slotting period for some of the most competitive national level tests. This decision has made things clearer and relieved a million of candidates who are getting ready for the different SSC exams such as CGL Tier-2, MTS & Havaldar, and GD Constable. The official announcement was made on 2nd January 2026 and was made available to the public through the SSC website and official exam calendars.
SSC Exam Schedule 2026 Out
The SSC in its official announcement has assured the examinee that the dates of the different recruitments covering 2025-26 cycles will not change. The exactness in the dates will enable the candidates to organize their preparation, revision, and exam strategy accordingly, particularly for those who are coping with multiple notifications.
The SSC CGL Tier-2 examination 2026 will take place on January 18th and 19th, 2026. This tier is significant for the graduate candidates looking for the prestigious Group B and C posts in the central government departments.
SSC MTS (Multi-Tasking Staff) & Havaldar
The non-technical staff and Havaldar position recruitment examinations through a single window are expected to be held from 4th February 2026 onwards in a Computer, Based Test (CBT) mode.
SSC Constable (General Duty GD)
The Examination 2026 will start on 23rd February 2026. The candidates will have a chance to join various Central Armed Police Forces such as BSF, CRPF, CISF, and others.
One of the most attractive features of the recent SSC notification is the introduction of self-slotting for the examination. Self-slotting allows candidates to select their most convenient date and time for the Computer Based Tests depending on the availability.
What is Self-Slotting?
Self-slotting is a method where an applicant is enabled to:
- Choose the date and shift for the exam from the window announced by SSC.
- Check the slots available at different centres (based on eligibility and region).
- Confirm their schedule beforehand, which is conducive to better planning of the day and arranging the journey.
The implementation of such a system has become extremely important as SSC conducts exams in different shifts due to the large number of applications.
