What else are you going to do to honor Star Trek Day?
“Take the Chair, Make an Impact” is the name of the campaign that Star Trek released for Star Trek Day this year. It asks fans to “imagine themselves in the iconic U.S.S. Enterprise captain’s chair and ask themselves, ‘What would I do if I were setting the course to the future?'”
Star Trek has teamed up with three non-profits that share its stated core values of “diversity, inclusion, acceptance, and hope.” These are Code.org, which helps kids learn computer science, DoSomething.org, which inspires kids to make a difference, and Outright International, which fights for the rights of LGBTIQ people.
Star Trek events are also happening in Chicago, Illinois, Berlin, Germany, and Vancouver, Canada over the next few days.
