The plea filed by BJP leader, Subramanian Swamy for a court-monitored investigation into the death of Congress leader, Shashi Tharoor’s wife Sunanda Pushkar was dismissed by the Delhi High court on Thursday.  The HC dismissed the petition saying it to be ‘frivolous’.

The HC also warned both Swamy and his legal representative to be extra careful while levelling wild allegations.

The court called the plea as a ‘textbook example of Political Interest Litigation’ clothed as PIL.

Justices S Muralidhar and IS Mehta said the plea cannot be treated as a PIL. The HC also noted that Swamy covered information, on the basis of which he had made “sweeping allegations” against Tharoor.

Pushkar was found dead in a room of a 5-star Hotel, Leela on January 17, 2014, in Delhi. The body was found by Tharoor around 9 pm on that day.

Pushkar and Tharoor got hitched in 2010.
