Sunil Tatkare Retains Raigad: NCP's Triumph Over Shiv Sena

In a significant win for the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), candidate Sunil Tatkare has successfully retained the Raigad Lok Sabha seat in Maharashtra. Tatkare overcame his nearest rival, Anant Geete of the Shiv Sena (UBT), by an impressive margin of 82,784 votes.

Leading the Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar-led NCP’s Maharashtra unit, Tatkare garnered 5,08,352 votes compared to Geete’s 4,25,568, according to the Election Commission’s data. This victory reaffirms Tatkare’s strong political standing despite a split within the NCP earlier this year.

Other contenders included Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi (VBA) nominee Kumudini Ravindra Chavan who received 19,618 votes, and independent Shrinivas Mattaparti with 9,394 votes. Meanwhile, 27,270 voters opted for the ‘None of the Above’ (NOTA) choice in this coastal constituency.
