After questioning several Bollywood personalities in Sushant Singh Rajput death case, Mumbai Police is expected to issue summons to noted director Karan Johar this week in order to record his statement.

Meanwhile, Johar owned Dharma Productions’ CEO Apoorva Mehta has been asked to record his statement in connection with the case on Tuesday.

Recently filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt was questioned by the Mumbai Police in connection to the case. He was reportedly questioned for 3 hours. Bhatt in his statement informed the police that he had met the deceased actor only twice, in November 2018 and in 2019.

Sushant was found dead at his Bandra residence in Mumbai on June 14, leading to a heated ‘nepotism’ debate in the Hindi film industry.

In a significant development, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on July 26 acknowledged a letter by BJP leader and noted lawyer Subramanian Swamy, seeking a CBI enquiry in Sushant Singh Rajput’s death case.

Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh on Sunday had said that producer-director Karan Johar’s manager has also been called to record the statement and if needed, Johar himself will be asked to do so.

For the uninitiated, the Mumbai Police officials are probing the allegations of professional rivalry, besides clinical depression in the suicide case.
