Whether inspired by PM Modi’s ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’ or Akshay Kumar’s movie – Toilet: Ek Prem Katha, this 7-year-old girl from Tail Nadu is adamant on having a toilet in home. The girl filed a complaint against her father accusing him of ‘cheating’. The girl told the cops that she lodged a complaint because her father promised to build a toilet in the house, which he failed to do.

“I had just finished my lunch, when the charming girl, Hannifa Zara, walked in with a smile. She was wearing her uniform and carrying a bag, full of medals and certificates. She addressed me as aunty and said her father had cheated her by not building a toilet in the house,” sub-inspector A Valarmathi said.

Meanwhile, father of the girl, Esanullah, who lives with his family in Ambur Natarajapuram Pillaiyar Koil Street, had no understanding of what has taken place when he got a call from the police station. “I was scared when I received a call from the police station. It is only after I reached there and saw my daughter and wife when I was told about the entire situation,” said Esanullah.

Not just the family but the police were taken aback as well and immediately informed the Ambur municipality Health Department officials. Subsequently, the Municipalities Health Department personnel had a chat with Zara and assured her to build a toilet in her house.

The Health Department officials then informed about the complaint given by the schoolgirl to the District Collector. As per his instruction, Municipality has begun the work of constructing a toilet behind her house under the ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan‘ scheme.
