Tamil Nadu government has declared holiday for the schools and colleges in six districts of the state due to heavy rainfall expected in the coming week.

Tamil Nadu is expected to receive heavy rainfall in the next 48 hours due to the low-pressure area,
According to media reports, a holiday has been declared for the schools and colleges in the districts of Tirunelveli, Tuticorin, Theni, Virudhunagar, Madurai, Vellore and Ramanathapuram.

“The low pressure which is to form a depression and deep depression is causing eastward winds which will blow over Tamil Nadu and strengthen and gather more moisture,” said an official of the Indian Meteorological Department.

A weather report pointed out that many places in southern Tamil Nadu are likely to receive moderate rainfall until Friday due to the weather system lying over the Comorin area. According to the Meteorological Department, apart from these, a few places in the Northern part of the state have also sighted chances of moderate rainfall until Friday.
