Tata Consultancy Services Pay Hikes: India’s biggest IT company Tata Consultancy Services has started giving salary hikes to most of its workers. The hikes are in the range of 4.5 to 7% for the majority of staff, and those who did really well got even bigger hikes of at least 10%, reported BS.
The company said these raises will be effective from September and people will see the new salary amount when they get their pay at the end of this month. This increase is almost the same as last year.
Earlier this year TCS did not give the hikes in April like it usually does. The company stopped it at first and explained that the global economy was not stable and there was too much uncertainty. In July also, during its quarterly results, the company still did not start the hikes. Only last month it finally announced that hikes will come back, and now it has gone ahead with it.
Different levels in the company
The company has a grading system for workers. Freshers start from Y grade as trainees. Then the system engineers go into C1, and then move up into C2, C3 A & B, C4, and C5, and then the top CXO levels. People who are in the C3 band are seen as senior employees. TCS has not shared how much hike the senior managers and top leaders will get this time.
