Tatanagar-Amritsar Jallianwala Bagh Express: The push to make the Jallianwala Bagh Express run every day on the Tatanagar to Amritsar route has picked up pace. The Central Gurudwara Prabandhak Committee has asked South Eastern Railway to add more services.

On Monday, a group of 31 members met South Eastern Railway AGM Manish Jain in Jamshedpur. They gave him a written note requesting that the train be operated daily.

Jallianwala Bagh Express Daily Service Demand

The committee noted that steady travel options to Amritsar and other areas of North India matter a lot for people in Jamshedpur and the broader Kolhan region. Many depend on this route for jobs, trade, studies, health needs, and visits related to family work. With fewer days of service, riders face repeated trouble.

The Jallianwala Bagh Express, train numbers 18103 and 18104, links Tatanagar with Amritsar. The distance is about 1,750 km. At present, rail schedules list the service on limited days instead of running daily.

Committee Warns of Agitation

The Central Gurudwara Prabandhak Committee said it has taken up its demand with railway officials many times before. It added that a lasting fix is still not in place.

The committee also said it may push for a protest at the Tatanagar rail station. It warned this could include a rail blockade if the demand is not met.

The issue is coming up again as people raise worries about how the train will run in winter. In Jamshedpur, passenger groups have asked authorities to rethink the planned winter cancellations. They want the service to stay on, using newer safety and signalling steps.

For passengers in Kolhan, the suggested daily run may be a steadier direct route to Punjab. It could also help travelers reach other places in the north.
