After teasing the announcement of her new music release through a countdown on her website and social media accounts, Taylor Swift has finally dropped her new single, “ME!” which features Panic! At The Disco’s Brendon Urie.
Along with the countdown, Swift has been posting a new clue on her Instagram account every day with the caption: “4.26” for almost two weeks. The song was launched in the morning around 9:30 am IST.
Swift appeared with ABC’s Robin Roberts during the NFL draft’s first round where she announced her new single and music video. Swift told Roberts, “‘Me!’ is a song about embracing your individuality and really celebrating it and owning it. I think with a pop song we have the ability to get a melody stuck in people’s heads, and I just want it to be one that makes them feel better about themselves,” as quoted by BuzzFeed.News.
Take a look at Taylor Swift’s new single ‘ME!’ featuring Brendon Urie:
Swift released her last album, “Reputation,” in 2017. In her last music album, she explored themes of betrayal, isolation, and redeeming love in the wake of a very public backlash against her. In March 2018, the album became her sixth to sell more than 2 million copies in the U.S.
Last year, she signed a deal with Universal Music Group and Republic Records after many years at the Nashville-based Big Machine Records.
