The Accidental Prime Minister, starring Anupam Kher in the lead role, which released in 1300 screens across the country, managed to earn a reasonably good Rs 4.50 crore on its first day. According to the early estimates by film trade analysts, the film is expected to grow over the weekend despite being in tough competition with Vicky Kaushal starrer ‘Uri: The Surgical Strike’.
Ranveer Singh’s blockbuster actioner Simmba, which released two weeks ago, might still affect the business of The Accidental Prime Minister.
Directed by Vijay Ratnakar Gutte, The Accidental Prime Minister records the life of economist and politician Dr Manmohan Singh who served as the Prime Minister of India from 2004 to 2014 under the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government.
