The Accidental Prime Minister, starring Anupam Kher in the lead role, had a decent start at the box office collection by earning Rs 4.5 crore which is a decent amount. The film was released on Friday and was expected to see a benefit on Weekends. The movie collected Rs 6 crore on Saturday which took its total to Rs 10.5 crore in 2 days.

Directed by Vijay Ratnakar Gutte, The Accidental Prime Minister records the life of economist and politician Dr Manmohan Singh who served as the Prime Minister of India from 2004 to 2014 under the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government.

According to trade analysts, The Accidental Prime Minister is believed to have a rise in its box office collection on Sunday as compared to Saturday. Although no confirmed figure has been revealed about the collection the movie has made on Sunday but it is well expected that the movie had made Rs 7-8 crore on Sunday which will bring up its total around Rs 18 crore after 3 days of release.

Ranveer Singh’s blockbuster actioner Simmba, which released two weeks ago has already crossed Rs 215 crore mark on box office and it might still affect the business of The Accidental Prime Minister.

Arjun Mathur and Aahana Kumara are seen playing the role of Rahul Gandhi and his sister Priyanka Gandhi respectively.
