The Immortals of Meluha Movie Trilogy: Bollywood star Ranveer Singh is reportedly set to headline one of the most ambitious mythological adaptations in Indian cinema. According to multiple media reports, the actor will play Lord Shiva in a big-screen trilogy based on The Immortals of Meluha, the bestselling novel by Amish Tripathi.
The reported project is said to be developed as a cinematic trilogy adapting the complete Shiva Trilogy books, The Immortals of Meluha, The Secret of the Nagas, and The Oath of the Vayuputras. Reports suggest that Ranveer Singh may also co-produce the films under his banner alongside Birla Studios.
Ranveer Singh’s Biggest Role Yet?
If confirmed officially, the role could become one of the defining performances of Ranveer Singh’s career. Known for his high-energy portrayals in films like Padmaavat, Bajirao Mastani, and 83, the actor stepping into the role of Shiva has already sparked major discussion online.
According to reports, the adaptation is currently in the development phase, with writers focusing heavily on screenplay creation and world-building before production begins. “Ranveer has been passionate about bringing Meluha to the big screen for a long time now. The acquisition happened recently, and the project is now officially under development. Makers are approaching the franchise as a long-term cinematic universe, and the plan is to tell the story over 3 films. The writing work has already begun, and the team is taking its time to crack the screenplay and world-building. The first part is expected to go on floors in 2028,” the publication quoted a source as saying.
“The director will only be locked once the script work reaches a certain stage. Right now, the focus is entirely on developing the material,” the source added.
