With food delivery app like Swiggy you barely have to move from your place to get delicious food from nearby restaurants. The delivery has been done by Swiggy’s delivery executives, which is totally secured and time-saving.
These online food delivery apps are mainly dependent upon the food quality and food delivery. The food must taste well and the delivery should be done carefully and on-time.
When we talk about a delivery executive, we think of a male person to be standing outside our doors with our food order. But now the time has changed, as women are stepping up into works which are said to be done only by men. There were reports of Swiggy planning to hire women delivery executives all over India. Many females had already started the same in Bengaluru and Hyderabad.
In Chennai, Jayalakshmi is the first Swiggy delivery woman. After having completed almost a month in her job she said that this was a great opportunity for her and she had faced no problems delivering food till now. She also works in a clinic in the evening.
She had gone to the Swiggy office in search of a job for her husband who is a daily load man in Koyambedu market. Swiggy offered the job to Jayalakshmi instead, she accepted the offer and has successfully completed a month as Swiggy’s delivery executive.
“In office, they monitored me for one week and always asked me if I was facing any issues because they would hire more women based on my response. I had no issues, if I had any problems with the route, my colleagues were around me to lend a helping hand. I am from RedHills area but now I am working for Alwarpet. On weekends I work full time delivering food and on weekdays, I working part-time and work for a clinic in the evening.”
Jayalakshmi added, “After my positive feedback, Swiggy hired one more woman. She joined a week ago. I did her training. She is now working in T-Nagar area. I hope many women will join.”
The confident and smiling face of Jayalakshmi states that women can work in all fields, and their development will lead to the nation’s development.
