Zoya Akhtar directorial Gully Boy starring Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt is all set to become the second blockbuster of 2019. The film has opened to critical acclaim and positive word of mouth from the audiences.

After Vicky Kaushal starrer Uri: The Surgical Strike entered the Rs 200 crore club at the box office, looks like Gully Boy will be smashing some records as well. The film has already crossed Rs 50 crore in just three days since its release. Trade analysts have pegged the film to earn at least Rs 90 crore by the end of its first week.

With this tremendous success, reports state that producers down south are considering to remake Gully Boy for their audiences. According to the latest reports, producer Allu Arvind is keen on remaking Gully Boy in Telugu. And to play Ranveer Singh’s role the producer is considering to rope in actor Sai Dharam Tej. However, an official announcement in this regard has not been made yet.

If the remake does happen, it will be interesting to see if the makers of the film can bring the same rawness to the silver screen. Gully Boy which is loosely based on the lives of Divine and Naezy has garnered praises from all over. Not only in India, but the film opened at the International Berlin Film Festival to positive reviews from international media.

Also starring Kalki Koechlin, Siddhant Chaturvedi, Vijay Raaz and Vijay Varma in significant roles, Gully Boy marks Zoya’s second collaboration with Ranveer after their 2015 film Dil Dhadakne Do. Gauging Gully Boy’s box office collection, the film is set to cross Zoya’s current top grosser Dil Dhadakne Do which stands at Rs 90.27 crore.
