Frustrated fans can now commiserate together, or send their complaints directly at the despised work’s creators, through social media; or if they really want to get the creators’ attention, they can mobilise that ultimate weapon: the online petition.
After since the yet another disappointing episode of the last season of Game of Thrones, an online petition asking HBO to remake the final season is running across the world with garnering over 2 lakh supporters already.
Signatories of the Change.org petition, started the petition earlier this week, entitled ‘Remake Game of Thrones Season 8 with competent writers.’
“David Benioff and DB Weiss have proven themselves to be woefully incompetent writers when they have no source material (i.e. the books) to fall back on. This series deserves a final season that makes sense. Subvert my expectations and make it happen, HBO!” the petition read.
Petitioners claim that showrunners David Benioff and DB Weiss have steered too far from George RR Martin‘s original work, and have not given the characters the appropriate treatment they deserve.
The Game of Thrones series finale kicks off Monday, May 20 at 6 AM.
