Cast
Thunderbolts represents a new direction for Marvel Studios, creating a team with moral ambiguities like the comic book antiheroes instead of the expected squeaky-clean Avengers. The film boasts a pretty intimidating ensemble of Yelena Belova (Florence Pugh), Bucky Barnes/The Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan), Red Guardian (David Harbour), Ghost (Hannah John-Kamen), Taskmaster (Olga Kurylenko), and John Walker/U.S. Agent (Wyatt Russell). All of them are united under the hawkish watch of Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, played by Julia Louis-Dreyfus, for an under-the-radar government operation. The film explores their dark backstories, broken allegiances, and surprising camaraderie, creating a serious, grittier aesthetic to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
