Timex 1990 Moon Phase Watch: Timex has brought back a special watch from its 1990 collection with a fresh reissue in the US. The new Timex 1990 Moon Phase and Calendar Dial Reissue costs $299 and is now listed on the company’s website. The watch has a busy dial that displays the time, date, day and moon cycle together.
The design stays close to the old style but uses a smaller 37mm case. It comes with a polished gold-tone stainless steel body and a cream or white dial. Full black Arabic numbers make the main time display easy to read. Timex has also added a stepped bezel for a more vintage look. The watch weighs 44.89 grams.

A Lot Of Information On One Watch Dial
The main attraction is the detailed dial. Near the top sits a moon phase display that follows a 28-day lunar cycle. Around the main time display are two separate rings that work as a monthly calendar.
The calendar rings can be adjusted with the two small knobs placed around the main crown. Users can line up the number ‘1’ with the correct starting day of a month and then see the whole month on the dial.
There’s also a normal date window at the 6 o’clock position. Timex says this can be changed by pulling the crown out one step and turning it clockwise.
The watch uses a quartz movement and an SR920SW battery. It has a mineral crystal over the dial and is water resistant up to 50 meters. That makes it suitable for light swimming, but Timex says it isn’t meant for snorkelling or diving.
Brown Leather Strap and Compact Size
Timex has paired the watch with an 18mm brown natural leather strap featuring a crocodile-grain finish. The strap uses a regular buckle and comes with quick-release spring bars. This means the strap can be changed without special tools.

The watch has a 37mm case diameter, a 42.5mm lug-to-lug length and a 10mm case height. These dimensions keep it fairly compact compared with many modern watches. Timex says the leather comes from the Leather Working Group (LWG). The company has also listed the watch as having sustainable features.
The original model first appeared in 1990. More than three decades later, Timex has brought the calendar and moon phase design back in a watch that mixes an old-school look with everyday quartz movement. The new model is listed in the US for $299.
