TNEA Counselling update: The Tamil Nadu Engineering Admission (TNEA) 2019 counselling, earlier scheduled to begin Thursday, will commence today, June 25.
Differently-abled candidates will be called first. Counselling for wards of ex-servicemen will be held June 26and for sports persons on June 27.
While the counselling for vocational stream will be held from June 26 to June 28, the counselling for general category candidates will be held from July 3 to July 28.
This year, the Department of Technical Education (DOTE), for the first time, will be conducting TNEA counselling.
The mode of counselling will be online. DOTE has arranged TNEA facilitation centres (TFC) across the State to help the students in online counselling.
State Higher Education Minister K P Anbalagan, who released the merit list recently, said, this year there will be 479 colleges for counselling and 15 colleges had opted out of admission process.
TNEA 2019 Counselling: Important points at a glance
TNEA 2019 rank/merit list was released on June 20, 2019. The rank list based was on the percentage that candidates have scored in 10+2 examination.
Candidates who belong to the state of Tamil Nadu and have completed their 10+2 from the state of Tamil Nadu are eligible to apply for TNEA 2019.
Those who do not belong to the state of Tamil Nadu, but have completed their 10+2 education from the state of Tamil Nadu can also apply.

Class 10th, 12th, and 11th or equivalent marksheet
TC or Transfer Certificate
HSC hall ticket or Class 12th admit card
Community certificate
Nativity certificate
First graduate or first graduate joint declaration certificate
Reservation certificate as applicable
