Switzerland: The officials of the two nations of South Korea and North Korea met with the International Olympic committee. The countries showed their interest to march together in the upcoming 2020 Tokyo Summer Olympics. Interests in presenting unified teams in some sports were also put forward.
In 2006 Turin Winter Olympics the contingent of North and South Korea marched together and even had a unified ice hockey team in the women’s category.
The relations have over time improved between the two nations.
Earlier South Korea and North Korea agreed to hold working-level talks on sports cooperation, including the co-hosting of the 2032 Summer Olympics, Seoul’s Unification Ministry had said.
