Rohtak: CBI raids former Haryana CM Bhupinder Hooda in land scam case

Central Bureau of Investigation on Friday morning conducted raids at the residential premises of former Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda in connection with a land deal case.

According to the reports, the raid at the Congress leader’s Model Town residence in Rohtak started around 8:30 in the morning and is still underway. The investigative agency is simultaneously conducting raids at more than 30 places in Delhi and nearby areas in connection with the alleged land scam. Read more

Path breaking novelist Krishna Sobti dies at 93

On Friday the nation woke to the sad demise of the iconic Hindi writer Krishna Sobti. She died at the age of 93.

Sobti was extremely sick and was admitted to the hospital from last two months. The actress breath her last in the hospital this morning.

Some of her best works included Daar Se Bichhudi, Mitro Marjani, Zindaginama, Dil-o-Danish, Badalom ke Ghere, Ai Ladki and Gujarat Pakistan Se Gujarat Hindustan. Her novel “Zindaginama” won Sahitya Akademi award in 1980. Read more

Jharkhand lynching victim’s son dies after complaining of headache, family alleges foul play

In a shocking incident reported, Jharkhand lynching victim Alimuddin Ansari’s 22-year-old son Shahzad Ansari passed away in a private hospital after experiencing severe pain in his head for several days. The unfortunate death of Shahzad happened on Wednesday, January 23 at a private Lake View hospital in Jharkhand’s Manau village.

Shahzad Ansari was looking after the family after his father was brutally lynched to death on June 29, 2017 over suspicion of carrying beef. Read more

Padma Awards are among the highest civilian honours of India and are declared every year on the eve of Republic Day. For the 2019 Padma Awards, a total of 49,992 nominations were received, a jump of over 14,000 then the nominations were made in the year 2017. Uttar Pradesh: NHM worker’s strike enters day 4, Buddhi-Shuddhi yagna conducted

Around 2.75 lakh contractual workers under National Health Mission in rural Uttar Pradesh continued their strike on the day 4 by conducting a Buddhi-Shuddhi yajna at the chief medical officer’s office in Meerut. The contractual workers who are protesting have demanded to regularize their jobs under fixed salaries of 10,000 per month.

Among several contractual employees, 750 of them belongs to Meerut and due to their strike, services such as vaccination, payment of beneficiaries under Janani Suraksha Yojna, communicable disease program, Tuberculosis programme, has been stopped. Read more
