RBI cuts repo rate by 25 bps in first cut since Aug 2017
In a major policy shift, the six-member monetary policy committee (MPC) headed by Governor Shaktikanta Das on Thursday lower the repo rate by 25 basis points to 6.25 per cent in 4-2 vote. RBI has thus cut rate for the first time in 17 months. The last rate cut happened in August, 2017

Trouble continues for Jyoti Dhurve, Member of Parliament from Betul (Madhya Pradesh) constituency as the state level investigation committee in its review in the fake caste certificate case gave the verdict against the BJP MP.
Following the earlier stand of the committee where it said that the Dhurve’s caste certificate has been found fake, the MP had submitted an appeal in the case. But the committee decided against giving relief to the Betul MP in the case. Read more

Chennai filmmaker Balakrishnan murders wife, disposes chopped body in dustbin
More than a fortnight after dismembered body parts of a woman were found in garbage bins in Chennai, police have cracked the case. As per the early reports, the city police have identified the deceased as the wife of a small-time cinema producer cum director named Balakrishnan, who allegedly murdered her and then chopped her body into parts and disposed it at various places across the city.
