Udaipur and Ahmedabad airports to face busy period over Ambani wedding

Udaipur‘s domestic airport, Maharana Pratap Airport will be in all busy-ness over this week as more than 200 charter planes are set to land in the city, ferrying guests for Isha Ambani and Anand Piramal’s wedding.

Apart from the private flyers, the Ambanis have booked more than 15 aircraft of Vistara for the guests. Vistara, which is a joint venture of Tata-Singapore Airlines is going to fly a minimum of 10 one-way charters from Mumbai and Delhi to the city of lakes, Udaipur. Other than Vistara, the Udaipur airport would together host over 10 flights from SpiceJet, Air Asia and Jet Airways.

Due to a parking space crunch in Udaipur, six charter planes who would be ferrying the guests to the celebration will be parked at the nearby Ahmedabad Airport.

Officials at the Ahmedabad airport said, “We had received a request of accommodating charters here. Six charters will be parked at Ahmedabad airport for two days.”

The two families of Mukesh Ambani and Piramal Group are on a two-day(December 8 and December 9) pre-wedding celebration outing in Udaipur. The wedding will take place on December 12 in Mumbai.
