A senior Uttar Pradesh Minister Om Praakash Rajbhar on Tuesday blamed various Hindu outfits such a RSS, Bajrang Dal, Vishwa Hindu Parishad for the Bulandshahr violence that left a police Inspector dead amid the clashes. Rajbhar said that Monday’s violence was a blatant attempt to disturb peace on the same as lakhs of Muslims gathered in Bulandshahr as part of their annual Ijtima or congregation.
Speaking to the reporters, Rajbhar said, “This is a pre-planned conspiracy by VHP, Bajrang Dal and RSS, now police is even naming some BJP members. Why protest happened on same day as Muslim Ijtema event? It was an attempt to disturb peace.”
Earlier, the sister and son of the deceased Police Inspector Subodh Kumar Singh demanded that Kumar be given the honour of a ‘martyr’ and that the state government should create a memorial in his name.
Expressing his ordeal, Singh’s son said, “his father “wanted me to be a good citizen who doesn’t incite violence in the name of religion.” “Today my father lost his life in this Hindu-Muslim dispute, tomorrow whose father will lose his life?” he added.
