In a shocking incident of caste-based violence, a group of men allegedly forcibly tonsured the heads of a religious preacher and his aide in Dandarpur village, Uttar Pradesh.
The victims, belonging to the Yadav caste, were targeted after visiting the village for a Bhagwat Katha narration.
The event, which took place overnight, came to light after a video went viral on social media, prompting immediate police action. Four individuals, including the main perpetrator, have been detained in connection to the incident.
Senior police officials confirmed the rapid response, with a case registered against the accused after the victim filed a formal complaint. The incident has sparked widespread condemnation, highlighting the deep-seated caste discrimination persisting in society.
