UPSC Civil Services 2020: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) is likely to declare the UPSC Civil Services Prelims 2020 revised exam date this week. Candidates must keep a track of the official website of UPSC (upsc.gov.in) to check the latest updates on UPSC Civil Services 2020 preliminary exam date.
This year, the UPSC Civil Services Prelims 2020 was slated to be held on May 31, 2020. The commission will also issue the revised schedule of Indian Forest Services Prelims 2020, UPSC NDA/NA Exam 2020, UPSC CMS Exam 2020, UPSC IES/ISS Exam 2020 and UPSC CAPF Exam 2020.
After many speculations, the commission said in a press release issued on May 20 that it will not be possible to resume exams and interviews.
“The commission, however, took note of the progressive relaxations being announced by the Central Government and various States and has decided to review the situation once more, after the fourth period of lockdown.”
It further reads, “With a view to giving some clarity to candidates of various examinations and interviews, which have been deferred over the last two months, the Commission will issue a revised schedule of examinations in its next meeting to be held on June 5, 2020.”
“Details of the new calendar of examinations will be published on the UPSC website, after the Commission’s meeting on June 5, 2020,” said a press release issued by UPSC.
UPSC Civil Services Personality Test 2019 delayed:
In addition, UPSC had also postponed the UPSC Civil Services Personality Test 2019 which was scheduled to be held from March 23 and April 3, 2020.
As per reports, each year, nearly 10 lakh people apply for the UPSC civil services exam in the country. In order to hold the exam, approximately 1.6 lakh officials participate in conducting the exam across 2,500 exam centres.
