US AI Company Anthropic Launches India: The US-based artificial intelligence company Anthropic established its first Indian office in Bengaluru because this city serves as its main operational center. The company expanded its operations to India because it serves as one of its fastest-growing international markets and Indian businesses increasingly participate in international artificial intelligence activities.

Anthropic opened its new office on Monday as its second Asian office after Tokyo, which will function as a center for hiring employees, establishing partnerships, and assisting businesses with their responsible AI solution implementation needs.

According to company data, India accounts for almost 50 percent of all global computer-related work that uses Claude. The country holds strategic value for its operations.

The India operations will be led by Irina Ghose, a technology industry veteran and former managing director at Microsoft India. The company plans to recruit professionals across engineering, research, sales, and applied AI roles to support local customers and partners.

“India represents one of the world’s most promising opportunities to bring the benefits of responsible AI to vastly more people and enterprises,” said Irina Ghose, Managing Director of India at Anthropic.

The Bengaluru office will provide complete technical assistance to enterprises and startups and digital-first companies while they build customized AI solutions using Claude technology.

Partnerships with Indian Companies

Anthropic has already begun working with several Indian and global firms operating in the country.

  • Air India uses Claude-based tools to develop software and automate processes at a faster rate.
  • Cred develops features at a faster rate while maintaining higher testing accuracy.
  • Cognizant uses the technology to support its vast employee base which includes hundreds of thousands of workers.
  • Razorpay and other startups use Claude to enhance their risk assessment processes and develop artificial intelligence virtual assistants.

The enterprise partnerships demonstrate how Indian companies across various sectors are increasingly adopting generative artificial intelligence technology.

What To Expect?

The Indian operations of Anthropic promote responsible artificial intelligence development while providing access to multiple Indian languages. The company works to improve accessibility of its AI tools by developing support for various Indian languages throughout India.

The expansion will create more intense competition between global artificial intelligence companies which operate in India and US technology companies that already invest heavily in the region according to industry experts.
