US man faints after court sentenced him to 260 years in jail for sexual abuse & child pornography

A man who hails from Rhode Island was convicted for several crimes by the court for 260 years in jail and he fainted in the courtroom after the judge announced his punishment.

Thomas Goodman (45) collapsed on hearing that he will have to serve a jail term for 260 years for molesting newborns and teenage children. Reportedly, he has been accused of physically abusing two young girls for several years and has also filmed the act and posted a video on the internet.

Thomas who is sexually attracted to children is guilty of eight counts of productions of child pornography and one count for possession of child pornography last October.

On March 22 when US district court judge John J McConnell announced the punishment, the accused fainted inside the Providence courtroom. The judge said in the statement “The level of depravity is beyond comprehension. You spent six years sexually abusing two young girls when they were 6 years to 12 years old.”

Prosecutor Lee Vilker called it the worst case he had ever handled by far. When the accused gained conscious judge read the judgment that included 30 years for sexually exploiting children and 20 years for child pornography. Reportedly, the accused has said that he has no excuse for this act.

The accused was held after he violated his office policy of using the phone in the office premises and that led to the company to review the content of his phone. After which he was caught. He worked at Electric boat which is a submarine manufacturer company. Along with serving 260 years in jail, the accused has to pay a fine of USD 5,000 on each count of nine he was found guilty.
