In a shocking incident from Gonda district of Uttar Pradesh, the shopkeepers and customers have been blown away by the packets condoms and Jaljeera in packed bottles of cold drink sprite.
A shopkeeper named Sadhu Verma at Jamalpur Bazar in The Wazarganj police station area of Gonda district sells it to customers by purchasing it from the cold drink agency.
In the last days when a customer came to take a cold drink from his shop, a two-sprite bottle of 200 ml found condoms and a second bottle with jaljeera pouch.
Thereafter, dozens of other substances have been found in the bottle. Looking at it, the shopkeeper has thrown all the bottles.
The shopkeeper Sadhu Verma also lodged a complaint on the agency’s customer care, but there has been no hearing. However, the shopkeeper has preserved the remaining two bottle. He is supplying it in a range of about 8 km of the area.
Shopkeeper VK Refreshment Home Jamalpur said that the same bottle was being given to a customer but when we saw pouch of condom and Jaljeera in the drink, we kept it with us. He said that after seeing this, we have now stopped giving cold drinks to all the customers who come, we do not want anyone to be cheated and such a mistake is done again.
Many people have demanded a high-level inquiry into the matter. People say that if poisonous substances are found in such a cold-drink bottle, people will descend on the road and perform Dharna and will never drink cold drink again.
After coming to the notice of the administration, chief food security officer, Itendra Mohan Tripathi said that the people of the department were sent on the spot but the shopkeeper’s shop has been closed due to which the bottle of cold drink sprite could not be taken into account. Necessary action will be taken when the bottle will be found.
