The coronavirus 21 days lockdown continues across the country. Amid this, an appalling incident occurred in Gorakhpur district on Tuesday. The body of a married woman was found hanging in Ranapar village of Jhangha area of Gorakhpur. Husband Govind Jaiswal is said to have been at the quarantine centre for eight days after returning from Delhi.

Upon receiving information, the deceased’s father Raddhshyam has registered a case against six persons including husband, mother-in-law and father-in-law in sections of dowry harassment, non-wilful murder.

The police is investigating the matter. According to the information, Govind and Sundari had a love marriage in the presence of villagers in 2013. A few days after the wedding, husband Govind had moved to earn abroad. Later, on his return from abroad, he started working in Delhi.

Eight days ago, he returned from Delhi and then the administration had quarantined him. This morning, the body was found hanging. According to family members, she has committed suicide by hanging, while Sadur Raddhshyam alleges that the family had been demanding Rs 5 lakh in cash and dowry since marriage.

According to the police, the case is under investigation on the basis of the written complaint.
