Last year, we told you that filmmaker David Dhawan will revive the No.1 franchise with son Varun Dhawan and it seems he will kickstart from Govinda’s 1995 comedy blockbuster Coolie No 1. As per the latest report from Mumbai Mirror, Varun kickstart the No 1 franchise from this film and will be a contemporary take of this Govinda and Karisma Kapoor blockbuster.
Interestingly, No 1 started off with Coolie No 1 and we think that is the reason David Dhawan is keen to restart the franchise with this film.
Apparently, Varun will be juggling between Street Dancer 3D and Coolie No 1 and post that he will be teaming up with his Dulhania franchise director Shashank Khaitan for an action thriller. Talking about it, a source said, “He is in the process of locking the script and plans to take the film on the floors towards the year-end, perhaps in November.”
Varun has wrapped the Punjab schedule of Street Dancer 3D and will now head to London for its next schedule. The film also stars Shraddha Kapoor, Nora Fatehi and Prabhudheva in key roles. The film will be shot in 3D and converted to 4DX later. It is scheduled to release on November 8.
On the professional front, Varun will be next seen in Abhishek Varman’s Kalank, which features the ensemble cast of Alia Bhatt, Aditya Roy Kapur, Sanjay Dutt, Sonakshi Sinha and Madhuri Dixit Nene.
