Bollywood actor Rishi Kapoor passed away in Mumbai today. He was admitted to Sir H N Reliance Foundation Hospital in Mumbai. The news of him being unwell was confirmed by his brother Randhir Kapoor.

Kapoor returned to India in September 2019 after undergoing treatment for cancer in the US for almost a year. After his return, he had tweeted, “BACK HOME!!!!!! 11 Months 11days! Thank you all!”
Rishi was diagnosed with cancer in 2018 and underwent marrow treatment in the US for over 11 months. For his treatment in New York, the actor was accompanied by his wife, yesteryear star Neetu Kapoor. His son Ranbir along with his rumored girlfriend Alia Bhatt kept making regular visits to New York.
Rishi has hospitalized on a day the Bollywood industry suffered a major setback with the untimely demise of versatile actor Irrfan Khan, who passed away at the age of 53 after a two-year battle with a rare form of cancer.
The actor, who died at the Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital, was buried at the Versova graveyard around 3 pm in the presence of his family and friends such as directors Tigmanshu Dhulia and Vishal Bhardwaj. The numbers were restricted in view of the nationwide lockdown.
