Little did Ranu Maria Mondal thought that her two minutes clip of singing Lata Mangeshkar’s ‘Ek Pyaar Ka Nagma Hai’ at a Kolkata train station would make her a social media sensation.
A few days back a video of Ranu Mondal in a wrinkled blue sari and grey hair and perfectly hitting all the notes of the song went viral on the internet.
Meet Ranu Mandal, the 59 yr old with a heart warming voice, who was singing “Ek Pyaar ka Nagma hai” at the railway station of West Bengal.
She is getting calls from bands, shows and produers who want to work with her.

Now, with a makeover as a participant in the reality show Superstar Singer, Mondal has also recorded her first song. Her performance on the show convinced music director and singer Himesh Reshammiya, who is one of the judges, to offer her a song in his forthcoming film Happy Hardy and Heer.
